The Purchasing Department is responsible for all aspects of procurement and disposal of assets for the Municipality.

For a contractor or a service company to do business with Saanich they require the following:

  • A current Intermunicipal, or Non-Resident business licence.
  • Active Workers' Compensation Board Registration/Firm No.
  • Minimum $2 million liability insurance with the Corporation of the District of Saanich named as additional insured.
  • Employee criminal record checks where necessary.
  • Federal, provincial and municipal permits when and where applicable.

All submissions must be received by the Director of Purchasing no later than 3 p.m. on the closing date identified below. Public openings for Tenders and Quotes will be held in the Purchasing Department at 3:05 p.m. on the date of closing. Unit pricing will not be given. Procurements of goods and services greater than $100,000 and Construction greater than $250,000 will be subject to the International Trade Agreement, Annex 502.4.
