Traffic Calming

With traffic increasing at a faster rate than the population, and the major road system not expanding to suit, there is an increased tendency for through traffic to travel on residential streets at volumes and speeds which raise residents' concerns about safety, noise, and the livability of their street. In recognition of this growing frustration in the community, Council had added monies in the Annual Budget to finance investigation of traffic calming needs and installation of related capital works.
