March 31, 2005 - Update
Concerns have been raised about
the recommended solutions for Douglas Street, and these
are going to be resolved before the matter is taken to Council.
This will likely involve consultation with the residents
of Douglas Street and the surrounding area as to the most
appropriate solutions. Please contact Engineering
by e-mail or at the number provided for a status report.

Since early in 2004 Saanich Staff and a Community Advisory
Committee have been working with a Consultant to prepare
a Neighbourhood Transportation Management Plan for the North
Quadra Local Area.
The report is completed and is planned to be submitted to
Council in late March, after the public and all municipal
departments have had an opportunity to review and comment
on it. Look for the regular weekly notice in the Times Colonist
newspaper of the Council agenda.
Copies of the report are available for viewing at the Engineering
Department or at the Clerk’s Office. Paper copies may
be purchased from Engineering for $40, the cost of printing.
Digital copies in pdf format on CD may be purchased from Engineering
for $10.
The report in PDF format is also available below. Many of
the documents are large and will not be suitable for viewing
or downloading on a dial up connection.
To purchase a copy of the report, or to submit comments on
