Saanich Parks & Recreation provides and supports a number of community events throughout the year.  Complete details of each event will be listed in the Community Calendar under the Residential section of this website.

Music in the Park
6:00 - 8:00 pm
Bring your picnic dinners, lawn chairs and family to enjoy a musical summer evening in a local park.  Each date will include a different world musical band, some food vendors and a great chance to socialize and meet your neighbours.  Call Julie at 475-5408 for more information.

July 19
3rd Annual Saanich Sunfest Strongest Man
12 noon
Western Canada's top strength athletes battle it out at the Sunfest Strongest Man contest sponsored by PVL.  Watch as these great strongmen battle the keg medley, the farmers walk, the super yoke, the max log lift, the car deadlift and the famous stones of strength.  The top three finishsers will receive all-expense paid invites to compete in Quebec this August for the title of Canada's Strongest Man.

Sandfest:  Family Fun Day
11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Enjoy an afternoon at picturesque Gyro Park as professional sand sculptor Fred Dobbs completes a giant sand sculpture.  Hands on activities, bouncy castles, food and fun for the entire family.  Event information:  475-5558.
