The Upside Teen Activity Centre is a safe, welcoming, drug and alcohol-free environment for pre-teens and teens to socialize and develop new skills in a supervised, supportive and friendly environment. This 4000 sqft space is complete with foosball, ping pong, and pool tables, a surround sound & big screen T.V. entertainment area, Playstation, a giant chess/checker board, and as well a sound recording studio. Offering diverse youth programs and activities, this facility provides opportunitites for 10-18 year olds to gain valuable skills in leadership, employment, community involvement and personal development. We offer FREE after-school and evening drop-in programs, girls & guys groups, teen leadership programs, and outdoor summer adventure programs.

Splash Party
(For all ages)
Wave pool, tots pool and waterslide are available for Splash Parties.  They include a Fun Leader to organize games and activities.  Ideal for birthday parties, socials and other requests.
Cost: $75.00 includes Fun Leader and up to 10 friends.  The Birthday Child is free, each additional child is $3.00. Cost of food is additional.

The Upside Teen Activity Centre:
(10yrs+)
Book the Teen Centre for your own private party! You may enjoy the use of the foosball, ping pong and pool table, Stereo, Playstation 2 with games, Big Screen TV & DVD player, and the Giant Chess/Checkers board.  You may bring your own drinks, chips & snacks.  Additional food can be ordered through the Waveside Cafe.  Available anytime outside of our drop-in hours.  A Youth Leader will be present, but parental supervision is required throughout the party.  You may have up to 20 guests. 
Cost: $45.50/hour.  Minimum 2-hour booking.

Bubble Maker Party
(8-13 years)
Come and swim like a fish and discover life under the water!  A PADI shallow water Scuba Diving experience.  Enjoy a fun swim for 60 minutes and a 60 minute BubbleMaker program.  Waves and waterslide are available during the fun swim.
Cost: $139 (maximum 6 participants)  All participants must have signed waiver from their parents.
Saturdays and Sundays, please call for times.

Parties with Pizzazz
(For 4-13 years)
You bring the kids, cake and candles and we'll do the rest......and take care of the mess! 
Choose a theme: Prince and Princess Party, Hawaiian Luau, Pirate Party, Harry Potter and Wild West Roundup.
Cost: $125 for up to 10 children. Additional children $6 ea.

Sport Party Package
(6+ years)
We provide the gym and equipment for floorhockey, soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, dodgeball etc. and a separate room for eats.  You may bring in your own cake and drinks, all other food is to be ordered through the Waveside Cafe.  Check out their menu at www.wavesidecafe.ca or call 744-3773. Available Friday and Saturday evenings between 6-9pm.
Cost: $84 for 1 1/2 hours or $113 for 2 hours.  Cost of food is additional.

Wave Birthday Party
(5-12 years)
Kids can enjoy the pool and amenities during the everyone welcome swim times and then celebrate in a decorated area of the Waveside Cafe. Several party menus to choose from.

Cost: $4.25 per child per hour or purchase a 10 hour pass for $34.00, 25 hour pass for $79.00.  Third and additional children are $2.00/child/hr.

• Life Fitness cardio equipment including 10 treadmills, 10 bikes, 5 elliptical trainers, 4 step machines and 5 rowers
• Kinesis wall, the second one in all of Canada, allows 360 degree ground based movement with resistance.  Ideal for all types of strength training and rehabilitation.  Fully wheelchair accessible.
• Olympic weightlifting platform
• New strength training equipment including: dip chin assist, reverse hyperextension, military press, upright leg press
• Air conditioning
• Lots of natural light with windows overlooking the pool
• Filtered, chilled water fountains

Services:

• Weightroom orientations – Learn safe and effective use of the cardio and strength training equipment during this 90 minute session.  Our Fitness Centre staff will familiarize you with our facility and give you the basic information you need to get a great workout.  Correct posture and an overview of which exercises will target certain muscles included.
• Kinesis orientations –  30 minute ‘Foundations’ orientations available to give you the basics needed to begin incorporating Kinesis into your workout.
• Personal Training –to suit your individual needs.  Kick start your fitness routine with personalized instruction and a program that works toward your goals.  Develop a solid work out plan or revise your current one. 
• Exercise Rehabilitation Program – customized program for at home or in our facility after an illness, injury or period of inactivity.  Ideal for: chronic illnesses, post surgical rehabilitation, physical challenges, motor vehicle or work related injuries.  Exercise may be done in the pool or in our Fitness Centre.
• Take Heart – in partnership with the Vancouver Island Health Authority.  A safe, medically guided exercise program for men and women of all ages who have experienced a heart attack, heart surgery, angina or other cardiac event. Our program emphasizes return to regular activities and includes links to a registered dietician, stress management and smoking cessation.  Doctor’s approval is necessary.  Staff include an ACSM certified exercise specialist and registered nurse, Sandy Gilmour.
• Swimming – Swim where the athletes train!  Enjoy our 50m competition pool, 25m dive tank or 25m teach pool.  To plan your workouts pick up a weekly length swimming schedule or check the schedules page.
• Steamroom, Sauna and Swirlpool – Perfect for relaxing at any time.
• Childminding – We have an excellent childminding service offering quality care in a safe, friendly and fun environment each weekday morning.  Parents can enjoy the facility while leaving the kids with us.
