Pearkes features 2 full ice sheets, skate lessons for all ages, Duffer hockey and is home to the Saanich Figure Skating Club, Saanich Minor Hockey Association and Saanich Lacrosse.

For safety reasons, figure skating and hockey playing are not permitted during public skating (unless specified)

• Baby strollers are permitted on the ice, as are wheelchairs
• All patrons must wear skates on the ice

Bouncy Castle / Kindergym Parties (2-10 years)
Parties include 2 hours in the party room with bouncy castle, kindergym equipment, balloons and games galore with your party leader.
Times available are Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00am - 12:00pm or 1:00pm - 3:00pm.   
Cost is $145.00 for up to 12 children.

Pre-teen and Teen Parties at the Flipside (10 yrs+)
Book the Activity Lounge for your own private party!  You may enjoy the use of the foosball, ping pong and pool table, Stereo, XBox original and XBox 360 with games, Big Screen TV & DVD/Karaoke player and kitchenette.  You may bring or order in your own food.  Available anytime outside of our regular drop-in hours.  A Program Attendant will be present, but parental supervision is required throughout the party.  You may have up to 25 guests.
Cost:  $45.50/hour.  Minimum 1.5 hour booking.

Pearkes Recreation Centre strives on offering new & unique programming to the residents of Saanich. We've found this most recent project particularly exciting.

What if we could bring the Tour De France to you? Well, we've done it. We are happy to announce the arrival of our new Greg LeMond designed Spin bikes.

This new, 15 cycle addition to our roster could not have come at a better time. With the ever growing running and cycling population on South Vancouver Island, the cross training demand for this indoor sport is equally as popular and beneficial.

Whether you're looking for a sport specific training session, or an amazing low impact cardio workout, these classes are for you. Programs are structured to fit every fitness level from absolute beginner to advanced cyclists.

Colquitz Middle School
(Located off Interurban Rd, where it meets Burnside Rd and close to Tillicum Centre.  Take bus route #21/22 from downtown or #8 from across town.
This new school includes seven specialty rooms which are designated as "community access" spaces. These spaces are programmed in similar fashion to our recreation centre during after school hours.  Programs available are listed in our Active Living Guide and through RecOnline.

Les Passmore Activity Centre
Phone Centre for registration dates and fees of programs, classes, and trips, membership is $40.00 per year from date of purchase for those 50+. Non-member fees are available with some courses. Our family resource centre offers programs for the entire family in our location at Pearkes Recreation Centre. For more information on parenting courses, family support programs call 477-1826.

Certified K-12 teachers are available at flexible and convenient times to meet with your child.  Whether your child needs a boost in reading skills or has a Math 12 exam, our teachers can help. Sessions can be booked for one hour time slots, and all tutoring sessions occur at G.R. Pearkes Recreation Centre. $30 per hour. Please call 475-5451 to book at time
