CHUM FRY RELEASE AT MOUNT DOUGLAS CREEK
On Saturday June 7th the Friends of Mount Douglas Park Society and our community partners transplanted 50,000 chum fry into Douglas Creek. They met at the weir at 10:00 am and the event took approximately two hours. This was a family event and parent or guardian supervised children were welcome.
Our community partners include: Howard English Hatchery and volunteers; Fisheries and Oceans Canada; Saanich Parks, Saanich Public Works; Pacific Salmon Foundation; and Friends of Mount Douglas Park.
