BEACH FIRES
Beach fires are allowed at:
- Telegraph Bay - Northern end of Telegraph Bay Road
- Cordova Bay Beach - from Cordova Bay Park to Sayward Beach
- Sayward Beach off Parker Ave
Permits are $10.00 and are and regulated year round at theabove sites subject to compliance with conditions of each permit.

GARLIC MUSTARD
The District of Saanich is asking the public for assistance in identifying and eradicating a particularly nasty invasive plant. Please see the recent media release and information brochure on Garlic Mustard.
WEEDS
Did you know that the definition of a "weed" is "an unwanted plant"?
Presently, we are experiencing a bumper crop of "unwanted" dandelions. Dandelions are, however, considered a 'nuisance' weed, not a 'noxious weed'. To control these weeds we focus on mechanical control and encourage healthy turf that will, hopefully, out compete the weeds. Read more...
