BRAEFOOT PARK LACROSSE BOX
Addition of Sport Court® Surfacing
|
|

History
Lacrosse Box built in 1998 with financial contributions from many local businesses and organizations including Saanich Minor Lacrosse, Braefoot Community Association and the District of Saanich. Braefoot has operated their Summer Camps out of the lacrosse box since 1993. Since then, over 3,000 youth have participated in Braefoot Summer Camps.
Vision
Provide an aesthetically pleasing surface which will attract more youth to use the facility for multiple sporting activities, include basketball lines to contribute to an appropriate environment for Braefoot’s Hoopla Basketball program and to provide Saanich Lacrosse with a superior surface as their home court. Sport Court International has been contracted to supply and assist with the installation of the surfacing.
As this is a different surface from asphalt, Braefoot Community Association has committed to ensuring Lacrosse with the best surface for their game. An agreement has been made that if the sport court surfacing impacts the lacrosse game negatively, the surfacing will be removed for the lacrosse season and re-installed annually for the summer programs of Braefoot Community Association.
