Saanich Volunteer Services helps residents of Saanich live more active independent lives. Every day, right here in Saanich, people of all ages who need help to remain in their home, who may be isolated from their neighbours and our community services, are receiving help from friendly volunteers.  Saanich Volunteer Services matches people who need help with those eager to provide it.  Drives to appointments, companionship, connection with community programs, help with yard work and minor home repair are just a few of the ways SVSS contributes to a healthy Saanich.

Provides support, education and information to individuals who are caregivers of adult family members or friends who live either at home or in a facility and are frail, elderly, disabled or ill.  Services include referral and information, caregiver support groups, resource lending library, handouts, educational workshops, bi-monthly newsletter and two publications - "Resource Guide for Family Caregivers" and "Educational Acitivities to support Family Caregivers:  Facilitator's Manual".

Meals on Wheels is a non-profit volunteer program that provides nourishing home delivered meals and a friendly visit.  Residents of Greater Victoria, the Saanich Peninsula and the Western Communities can receive Meals on Wheels.  Requests may be made by you, your family, a doctor, or from health and social agencies. 

Goward House is an independent senior activity center for 50+.  Our mission is to combine fellowship with recreational, educational and special interest programs.  Monthly art exhibitions are held and there is a tea room.  The facility is available for rental. Annual membership $40 and a $1 activity fee is charged for regualr activites including Bridge, Art groups and choir.  Course fees are charged for Tai Chi, Exercise to music, Spanish and lectures.  We welcome new members.  Check our out web page www.gowardhouse.com

The Cordova Bay 55 Plus Association is located in the Cordova Bay Community Place. The main objective of the association is to coordinate educational, social and physical activities that support the good health and independence of older adults.  The centre is open from 9am to 4pm Mondays to Fridays to all adults over the age of 55.  Annual membership is $40. Everyone is welcome.
